What is Zionism and why do some critics describe it as racist?
Green party debate over the motion ‘Zionism is racism’ comes amid renewed arguments over the meaning and history of a contested term

In this week’s newsletter: As The Celebrity Traitors returns, Winkleman once again proves herself the show’s secret weapon, becoming heir to a distinctly British TV tradition

The Celebrity Traitors has returned and, as ever, its pleasures are manifold: the coming together of very different types of famous people (what other show gives you the chance to see mathematician Hannah Fry chatting with Jerry Hall); the now obligatory series-upending first-episode twist; Richard E Grant careering around trying to break the game; Ross Kemp, eyes wide with terror, convinced that anyone who touches him, talks to him or blows on him is his killer.
There’s so much to enjoy in fact, that you almost overlook the heavy-fringed host at the show’s centre. By this point Claudia Winkleman feels undeniably core to the series, in both its Celebrity and civilian guises – as much a part of the furniture as that mustard armchair where faithfuls learn that they have been murdered. So much so, in fact, that it feels jarring – just plain wrong – when you watch one of the international variants of the Traitors and see someone else attempting to play the part of the pantomimish master or mistress of ceremonies; Alan Cumming, Siobhan McSweeney, or any of the other non-Claudias. They all make a decent fist of it, but none of them manage it quite like her.

‘People are deserting it’: why are London mansions struggling to sell?
For decades, the capital’s house prices raced ahead of the national average – but now they are falling in prime areas
An elegant Georgian facade, a full-width balcony and an exclusive address in South Kensington just steps from the Natural History Museum and the V&A. Yet the listing price of this west London flat at Queen’s Gate Gardens has dropped by nearly £1m since last year, to £4.4m.
It is far from an isolated case. A nearby house originally listed at £20m was slashed to £14m this year, says a local estate agent. In neighbouring Notting Hill, a stucco-fronted property that came to market two years ago at £16m is now being offered for less than £14m, they said.

Pyongyang fires towards sea a day after Kim Jong-un sister denounces South Korea for claiming North’s mines wounded South’s soldiers in DMZ
North Korea fired a ballistic missile towards the sea on Saturday, South Korea and Japan said, a day after it rejected Seoul’s accusation of its mines wounding soldiers.
The missile was launched from the Wonsan area at about 6.30am towards the East Sea – also known as the Sea of Japan – and flew more than 700km (434 miles), the South Korean military said. Seoul and Washington were analysing the test for details, it added.

Golden State Valkyries erase 16-point deficit, stun Dallas Wings to reach WNBA semifinals
The Golden State Valkyries’ second season has brought historic success on and off the court. The WNBA expansion franchise received the league’s highest valuation from Forbes, just before the WNBA tipped off its milestone 30th season.
In 2025, the Valkyries became the first expansion franchise in league history to reach the playoffs in its inaugural season. They also sold out every regular season home game and set a league attendance record, averaging more than 18,000 fans per contest. The Valkyries built on that successful debut Friday night, rallying past the Dallas Wings in Game 3 to secure the first playoff series victory in franchise history.
Valkyries forward Gabby Williams scored 19 points as Golden State rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat Dallas 77-73 in a dramatic, winner-take-all Game 3.
ATLANTA DREAM ADVANCE TO WNBA PLAYOFFS SEMIFINALS FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 2018 WITH GAME 2 WIN
The game’s decisive moment came with 13.1 seconds remaining and Golden State holding a one-point lead. Williams leaped back inbounds to secure her own miss on a play initially ruled Dallas’ ball, but Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase successfully challenged the call.
Nakase had fallen to her knees moments earlier and needed help getting up before being escorted off the court by a staff member after the final buzzer as her team celebrated at midcourt.
Arike Ogunbowale knocked down an off-balance jumper with 3:13 to play that put Dallas up by five and finished with 30 points to follow up a 45-point performance in the Wings’ overtime win Wednesday night at home.
Williams scored all but two of her points after halftime. Veronica Burton had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Burton’s layup with 8:19 to play pulled the Valkyries within 61-59, Williams hit two 3-pointers late in the third and they both willed Golden State into the best-of-five semifinals against the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces.

Tiffany Hayes scored 18 points off the bench, Kaila Charles hit a tying 3-pointer with 6:51 left and Kiah Stokes pulled down 13 rebounds.
Paige Bueckers had 17 points with six assists but shot only 3 for 14 for Dallas, making all 10 of her free throws.
Before the hard fought game, Nakase challenged the Valkyries to deliver a complete performance. "We made a promise to ourselves we are going to play the best four quarters of our lives."
The Valkyries are scheduled to host the defending champion Las Vegas Aces on Sunday in Game 1 of the semifinals. The Atlanta Dream will host the New York Liberty in the other semifinal matchup.
