Brydon Carse charged by Cricket Regulator over arrest on night out
Police investigated allegations of assault in Derby
Carse faces disciplinary hearing in next few weeks
Brydon Carse has been charged with improper conduct by the Cricket Regulator after his arrest on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly during a night out with his Durham teammates in Derby in August.
The fast bowler was subsequently interviewed by Derbyshire police, which investigated allegations of assault before closing the case without pressing charges a fortnight ago, as revealed by the Guardian.

Underdog Promo Code FOXNEWS: Play $5, Get $100 on Any NHL Matchup This Evening
The ice has been smoothed, the lines are painted, and the teeth are … barely there. The NHL is back, and you can get in on the return with Underdog providing the promo code FOXNEWS for you to earn $100 on any $5 NHL wager tonight.
The Capitals and Hurricanes play each other tonight in Carolina. The Capitals are a team that you’re probably more familiar with their best player than anything else. Alex Ovechkin is back, and you have to wonder how much more he will play in the league. One of the best players of all time, Ovechkin is entering his 22ndseason. He is the all-time leading goalscorer in NHL history, and after putting in 32 goals last year, he can continue adding to his total this season. There is a slim chance that, if he plays a few more years at the same level of productivity, he could reach 1,000 goals.
The Carolina Hurricanes are the more complete team. Last season, the Hurricanes hoisted the Stanley Cup after years of knocking at the door. They opened their season with arguably their biggest competitor to the throne. It wasn’t a very exciting game to open the season, but they hosted the Panthers and lost 1-0 in overtime. This was their home opener, and that explosive offense from the playoffs last year didn’t seem to be there. They should be fine, though.
Tonight brings you five different options to choose from and the Capitals vs. Hurricanes is just one of the great choices. An easy choice is to take advantage of the Underdog promo code FOXNEWS to bet $5 and earn a $10 bonus bet. This process can be repeated for 10 days until you reach $100 in bonus bets.

At Brighton, Polanski raised his arms in triumph. It felt more like a wave goodbye | John Crace
The Greens’ leader seems long on agitprop but short on ideas – and one byelection away from losing his job
The Chronicle of a Death Foretold. It must be weird to realise that you have in effect made yourself obsolete inside a year. Worse, that you have actively accelerated your demise. Even AI doesn’t work at that speed. But that’s precisely what it looks as if Zack Polanski has done. Maybe he should just look on the bright side. He’s managed eight Liz Trusses. Not to be sneezed at.
Polanski is partly a victim of his own success. A cautionary tale of being careful what you wish for. Like Nigel Farage, the leader of the Green party was one of Keir Starmer’s fiercest critics. Andy Burnham and Wes Streeting excepted. Keir wasn’t radical enough. Did not care enough about Gaza. Was too dull. And under Zack’s leadership, voters swarmed from Labour to the Greens. The party climbed to a record high of 18% in the polls and won the Gorton and Denton byelection against the staggeringly dim Matt Goodwin.

Five defendants accused of being part of ‘black team’ tasked with overcoming security at Israel-linked firm Elbit near Bristol
Palestine Action activists brandished whips, hammers and kebab skewers to intimidate security guards and keep them at bay during a break-in at an Israel-linked arms factory, a court has heard.
Five defendants are accused by prosecutors of being part of a “black team”, wearing black jumpsuits, whose role was to overwhelm security guards, so that a “red team”, wearing red jumpsuits, could break into the Elbit systems factory in Filton, near Bristol, and smash up equipment including drones.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The FBI has released a classified report to its workforce examining what it says are chapters from the bureau's history “where this institution fell short,” according to an internal message obtained Friday by The Associated Press.
It was unclear what episodes from the FBI's past are chronicled in the new “Patel Report.” But the document's existence is in keeping with Director Kash Patel's frequent criticism of the leaders who preceded him as well as with his determination to rid the FBI of agents and other employees he contends have politicized the bureau in the past. Patel's critics, however, accuse him of politicizing the FBI.
Though Patel pledged at his confirmation hearing last year that he would not look “backward,” he has encouraged investigation of former senior officials and has presided over waves of terminations, including of employees who participated in years-old investigations of President Donald Trump, were photographed taking a knee during a 2020 racial justice protest and contributed to a disputed analytical memo about Catholic extremism.
“The Patel Report looks backward because accountability demands it,” says a memo to the workforce signed by the FBI's co-deputy directors, Christopher Raia and Andrew Bailey, that describes the document as marking the “closing of one chapter in our history and the beginning of another complete with a brighter future ahead.”
Bailey announced his resignation earlier this week, and his last day is Friday. The FBI declined to comment on the report.
The message also says: “We cannot change what happened before we arrived. But we can confront it honestly. We can recognize failures instead of protecting them. We can hold people accountable. We can fix what was broken. And we can build safeguards strong enough to ensure the mistakes of the past are never allowed to define this institution again. These steps are consistent with any institution of excellence that is constantly striving for improvement."
It was unclear if the report made recommendations or demanded any action to address past shortcomings.
The FBI message says the report is meant to "promote fierce organizational accountability” and rebuild “public trust.”
But Patel’s critics say the politically charged investigations into perceived adversaries of Trump that the FBI has started under his watch, as well as the punishment of agents who participated in investigations into the Republican president to which they were assigned, have eroded faith in the nation’s premier federal law enforcement agency.

With October being one of the busiest sports months of the year, you might’ve missed that the NHL started earlier this week. You won’t want to miss the offer from Betr to receive $200 in bonuses when using promo code FOXNEWS on any NHL game tonight.
One of the games you might want to consider tonight is the matchup between the Rangers and Red Wings. Any time two of the Original Six teams get into the rink together, it is an exciting matchup.
This is a back-to-back for the Rangers, and even in the early days of the season, it can be difficult to play through those. The team is deep enough and has the talent needed on multiple lines to be competitive, regardless of the travel concerns.
As always, it is important to look to the goalie for a matchup. Igor Shesterkin started last night, so it is likely that backup goalie Joonas Korpisalo will be in the net tonight. Last season, he was 14-9-6 with a 3.15 goals-against-per-game average.
On the other side are the Detroit Red Wings, who come into this game with the rest advantage, as well as the home-ice advantage. The Red Wings want to get their opponents into mistakes and try to push the puck up the ice. Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, and Alex DeBrincat will work to find their opportunities in this one.
The Red Wings are likely to have John Gibson in the net to open this one. Last year he went 29-22-4 with a 2.72 goals-against-per-game average. He also was able to get four shutouts and a .901 save percentage last year.
When the puck drops, be ready with Betr and their offer of $200 in bonus bets for tonight’s game with promo code FOXNEWS.
