Fever player violently thrown to the ground, and what the horrible WNBA refs did next will shock you
Everyone can officially turn the page to football season. For good, this time.
The Indiana Fever are done. Kaput. Finished. Off to Cancun as we speak! Indiana lost to Las Vegas in Thursday night's elimination game, and will now ride off into the sunset after giving us the greatest summer of content since 1967.
Caitlin Clark is on hiatus until next May. Sophie Cunningham is free to grow her off-the-court content, including her podcast and Instagram page. I imagine she will do both, and do both well.
SEASON'S OVER: CAITLIN CLARK LEAVES IT ALL ON COURT WITH BLOODY MOUTH AS FEVER FALL IN GAME 3
As for guard Lexie Hull ... she'll probably spend at least some of the offseason in an ice bath after getting tossed to the ground like a ragdoll during last night's Game 3.
Take a look:
The entire sequence is just so perfect for the WNBA. It's everything right — and wrong — with that league.
The officiating is just horrible. That's No. 1. We forget about just how truly awful the officials are most of the year because there's so much other nonsense going on, but at the end of the day, they are undoubtedly the worst officials in all of sports.
Remember earlier this summer when Sophie Cunningham got her teeth cracked by an elbow and no foul was called? Amazing. Same thing here with Lexie Hull.
She essentially gets put in an armbar and then violently slammed to the ground ... and SHE was called for the foul! What are we doing here? Just a suplex in a WNBA game, and the person on the receiving end of it gets the whistle.
Incredible.
WNBA COACH TORCHES LEAGUE’S OFFICIATING AFTER LATEST BIZARRE NO-CALL: ‘IT’S A F------ JOKE’
Not as incredible as the absolute chaos that took place in the 60 seconds after the call. Fever head coach Stephanie White is BEGGING for a review. Lexie Hull is BEGGING for a review. The entire Fever bench is BEGGING for a review.
Meanwhile, the clueless refs just allow the Aces to proceed with the free throw shot, thus ending any hope for a review. And then, they just move on with the game.
No explanation. No review. No nothing. Just a Fever player slammed to the ground, a couple Aces free throws, and a couple zebras looking as clueless as ever.
See you in May, WNBA.
Good riddance.

Reform UK-run council boycotts reporter after row over potholes
Derbyshire county council accused of ‘worst kind of double speak’ as it denies banning local democracy journalist but says it will ignore his inquiries
Rows over potholes and a viral story about a garden gate have led to Reform UK’s latest confrontation with local media, after one of its councils announced it would refuse to engage with a reporter behind the stories.
Reform-run Derbyshire county council has been accused of setting a “dangerous precedent” after withdrawing all cooperation with Eddie Bisknell, a Derbyshire Live journalist who is publicly funded to cover local democracy.
